Pokémon Wishes of Tomorrow
HackPokémon Wishes of Tomorrow is an ambitious Emerald-based ROM hack set in the original Shin-Tokyo region beneath Mt. Fuji. When Jirachi awakens after a thousand-year slumber to grant a single wish, a mysterious faction led by a gold-masked Oni emerges to seize that power for themselves. Featuring the return of Shadow Pokémon and the Snag Machine, Mega Evolution, a three-act branching story, and Pokémon from Generations I through X, this is a darker, more strategic take on the classic GBA formula.

About This Retro Game
Created by flatfootlabs using the pokeemerald-expansion engine, Wishes of Tomorrow unfolds across 64 handcrafted maps, from quiet mountain villages and frozen lakes to the high-tech surveillance city of Shin-Tokyo and a towering summit finale. The narrative is split into three acts with multiple branching endings determined by your choices, and your starter is not the usual elemental trio—it is a Dragon-type: Gible, Frigibax, or Axew.
The Shadow Pokémon system is the heart of the experience. Over 60 corrupted variants are scattered across the region, hitting harder but defending worse, and they can snap into Hyper Mode mid-battle. Using the Snag Machine, you steal Shadows directly from trainer battles, open their hearts by battling with them, then purify them at the Celebi Island shrine. A dedicated Shadow Log tracks every loose, snagged, or purified Pokémon.
The hack modernises the battle engine with Mega Evolution, Primal Reversion, Z-Moves, Dynamax, Terastallization, the Fairy/Stellar types, and the physical/special split, while quality-of-life upgrades include an HM field-move menu, a quest journal, character portraits, animated boss intro cards, a Mega Stone shop, Ability Machines, a built-in randomizer, a Battle Frontier, and the Archipelago map system. The developer discloses AI-assisted content used for some code, event scripts, and dialogue drafts, while graphics, music, and maps were made by hand.
