Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman
Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman is a 1989 action platformer starring the eponymous cyborg superhero. Tentang Permainan Ini
The game introduces a unique 'Parts Change' system where defeated enemies drop mechanical components that can be collected to modify Shubibinman's abilities. These range from projectile weapons (Bin Beam) to mobility upgrades (Jet Legs), allowing players to customize their playstyle. Different combinations create over 15 possible configurations.
Shubibinman's stages feature non-linear progression with multiple hidden paths, including secret shops where players can trade collected screws for rare power-ups. The game's surreal aesthetic combines organic and mechanical elements, with levels that transform as you progress - a factory level literally folds open to reveal new areas.
The PC Engine version enhanced the original arcade game with new stages, an expanded soundtrack by Masaya's in-house composer Toshiaki Sakoda, and a save system using the TurboGrafx-CD's backup memory. The colorful sprite work pushed the hardware's capabilities, with large multi-segmented bosses.
While obscure internationally, Shubibinman became a cult favorite for its creative mechanics and offbeat tone. It spawned two sequels and is remembered as one of Masaya's most original franchises, blending tokusatsu superhero action with Metroid-like exploration elements.
