How to Switch Discs in Multi-Disc Games

Multi-disc games normally display an in-game message when they are ready for Disc 2, Disc 3, or another disc. Do not change discs early: wait until the game reaches its own disc-change prompt or tells you that the current disc is complete.

When ClassicGameZone has several discs available for a title, a Select Disc dialog appears before the game starts. Choose the regional or language version first when that choice is offered, then choose the disc.

1. Use the game’s built-in save or memory-card command at the latest safe point.
2. Choose Save Game from the emulator menu and keep a cloud slot or downloaded copy.
3. Wait for the game’s own disc-change prompt before selecting another disc.
4. Keep the current game open if its emulator menu shows a Disks control.

If the running game exposes more than one disc to the emulator, open the Disks control, open Disk, and select the requested disc. The Disks control is hidden when the running game exposes only one disc.

1. Wait for the game to request the next disc.
2. Open the emulator controls and select Disks.
3. Open Disk and choose the disc requested by the game.
4. Return to the game and confirm the disc change using the game’s own prompt.

A disc change made through the running emulator’s Disks control keeps the current session active. If you must reopen the page and choose another disc from the pre-launch dialog, the running session restarts, so load the built-in or ClassicGameZone save you created before leaving.

Do not open Disc 2 as an unrelated game entry. Use the same game page and the same regional or language version so the save and game data have the best chance of matching.

• If the next disc does not load, return to the disc menu and confirm that you selected the number requested by the game.
• If the game still asks for the previous disc, wait for its exact change-disc prompt and try again rather than changing discs from an earlier screen.
• If you refreshed or reopened the page, select the same game region or language and load the save again.
• If Disc 2 starts from its title screen, use the original game’s memory-card save or your ClassicGameZone save instead of expecting the previous running session to remain.
• Saves are not guaranteed to work between Japanese, Western, translated, or otherwise different releases of the same game.
