About This Retro Game
The hack is renowned for its impressive roster of 251 all-new Pokémon, featuring creative evolutions and pre-evolutions for existing species (like 'Charcolt' for Ponyta or 'Magnezone' from Magneton), alongside completely original creatures. This required extensive sprite work and balancing, creating a fresh collecting and battling experience.
Beyond the new creatures, Jupiter introduces significant gameplay changes: a challenging level curve, puzzles that require HM moves and item combinations, a reworked physical/special split based on move type, and a darker, more intricate plot involving a cult-like villain team and philosophical themes rarely seen in official games.
As a complete overhaul, it also features new tilesets, music, gym leaders, and post-game content. While its difficulty can be punishing, its depth and creativity have earned it a reputation as one of the most substantial and memorable 'complete hack' experiences in the Pokémon ROM hacking community.
