About This Retro Game
The hack spans 28 chapters across two story routes, similar to The Sacred Stones' branching narrative. Players follow Prince Valerio and Princess Celestine of Aqualis, who each have unique perspectives on the growing conflict with the neighboring empire of Solarius. The game features a full support conversation system with over 40 unique paired endings.
New gameplay mechanics include the Tidal system, where certain terrain tiles change during battle based on the phase of the moon tracked through the chapter timer. Water-based classes such as Tidal Mage and Corsair have been added, along with six new magical anima types tied to lunar cycles. The hack also introduces a forging system that allows weapon enhancements using moonstone shards collected from enemies.
The cast includes 42 playable units, including three lords, and features fully custom portraits, battle animations, and map sprites. The story explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the weight of prophecy. The hack has received critical acclaim in the ROM hacking community for its polished writing, challenging map design, and original soundtrack composed specifically for the project.
